Terms of use

These terms govern your use of Eristic, a debate-practice service operated by Devya (devya.dev). By creating an account you agree to them and to the Acceptable use policy.

The service

Eristic lets you debate AI opponents that use bad-faith ("eristic") tactics on purpose, names those tactics and your own fallacies, scores your replies and coaches you. The opponent's statements are training material, written to be unfair: they are not facts, opinions held by Devya, or advice of any kind.

Your account

  • You need an account to use the gym. Keep your password private; you are responsible for activity on your account.
  • You must be at least 13 years old. Classrooms with younger students need the school's consent and supervision.
  • Workspace owners control who joins their workspace and can see members' aggregate progress (debates finished, average score, last activity).

Plans and payment

  • The Free plan has the limits shown on the pricing page. Paid plans are billed per month or per year, per seat for Team and Classroom plans.
  • When you request a paid plan we issue an invoice with a reference. The plan starts once the payment is confirmed. Nothing is charged automatically.
  • You can cancel at any time; the plan stays active until the end of the paid period and then returns to Free. If you think you were charged in error, write to us and we will look at it promptly.

Your content

Your motions and replies remain yours. You give Devya the permission needed to store and process them to run the service, including sending debate text to our AI provider as described in the Privacy notice.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Eristic available but cannot promise it will be uninterrupted. We may change or discontinue features; for paid plans we will give reasonable notice of material changes.

Liability

Eristic is provided as a training tool. To the extent the law allows, Devya is not liable for indirect losses, or for decisions you make based on the opponent's or the coach's output.
