Privacy notice

Last updated: 23 October 2026

Eristic is operated by Devya (devya.dev). This notice explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Contact: hello@devya.dev.

What we collect

  • Account: your name, email address, a hash of your password (never the password itself), your language, and whether your email is confirmed.
  • Debates: the motions you choose or write, your replies, the opponent's replies, the tactics and fallacies found, scores and coaching.
  • Workspaces and billing: workspace names and memberships, plans, invoices and their status. We never receive card details.
  • Security records: sign-in sessions (with IP address and browser name), rate-limit counters and an audit log of billing and administrative actions.

How we use it

To run the gym, coach you, show your progress, bill paid plans, keep accounts secure and prevent abuse. We do not sell personal data and we do not use advertising.

AI processing

To generate the opponent, name tactics, judge replies and write the debrief, the debate text (the motion and the turns) is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, through its Claude API. Your name, email address and account details are not sent. Anthropic processes this text to return a result under its commercial terms. Do not put personal information about yourself or others into a debate.

When the AI opponent is not switched on, a scripted practice opponent runs entirely on our servers.

Cookies

We use only cookies that the service needs: two session cookies that keep you signed in, and one that remembers your language. No analytics or advertising cookies.

Who can see what

  • Your debates are visible only to you.
  • If you join a Team or Classroom workspace, its owner and coaches see your aggregate progress there (debates finished on its assignments, average score, last activity) — not your transcripts.
  • Devya staff access data only to operate and support the service.

Retention and your rights

We keep your account and debates until you ask us to delete them, and invoices for as long as accounting rules require. You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction or deletion by writing to hello@devya.dev.
